Marc Louis-Boyard – WHY I WRITE VOL.7
Hi everyone, I am Marc Louis-Boyard, the founder of Slow Culture. I am also copywriter, project manager and digital consultant at Kayak Communication, a global advertising agency based at Euratechnologies in Lille, France. Between Berlin, Paris and Budapest, my happy-go-lucky spirit was enriched by both creative encounters and a solitary appetite for art in all its forms. Find me on LinkedIn and Instagram.
Why I Write, by Marc Louis-Boyard.
To soften the prevailing mind-numbing loudness
Julian Barnes wrote in The Noise of Time “Art is the whisper of history, heard above the noise of time”. I couldn’t agree more. The noise of our times often consists in tasteless buzzwords forgotten hours after. In a world overcrowded with content, it feels good to be able to hold the attention for a few seconds. To highlight the unheard and their elusive wisdom. In a pressed society, sense is precious.
To reveal the true colors of people and ideas
Virginia Woolf told us about the rightful white light of truth and the terrible red light of emotion. However, I don’t believe in that. Moreover, when it comes to writing, it is an absolute necessity to feel the people, to feel the concepts. That being said, staying honest and real is even a greater necessity. After all, aren’t we lucky that both are compatible? Otherwise, how would writing catch attention without some ordinary madness from the author?
To celebrate creativity out of my shell
Writing is selfish by essence. That is cool. Though, I find this marvellous path excellent when it comes to stay inspired by inspiring others the way they inspired you at first. It is a virtuous circle. Endlessly. Together. In continuous movement, we are constantly moving forward. In fact, the word might be mightier than the sword, but we will need to grow stronger in the same direction to make that a reality. Look around, look around.
