Marcus Slease was born in Portadown, N. Ireland and immigrated to Las Vegas at almost age 12. He left the U.S. in 2005 and is no longer a resident alien of the U.S. His latest book, Play Yr Kardz Right, is forthcoming from Dostoyevsky Wannabe in August 2017. Maybe realizing that compassion starts with compassion for this bag of skin and bones and whatever is rattling and bouncing around in this thing called a head slash brain.
Writing as maybe rag and bone kit.
Language as travel with sometimes boundary dissolving aids such as DMT, music, Psilocybin, meditation, Cannabis etc. “Real travel requires a maximum of unscheduled wandering, for there is no other way of discovering surprises and marvels, which, as I see it, is the only good reason for not staying at home.” That’s from Alan Watts. Yeah. Something like that.
The act of writing and reading as felt presence of immediate experience in the absence of theory and to become completely engaged with whatever is happening in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play. The aeon is a child at play with colored balls. The aeon is the child that you encounter in the elfdome.
